UConn's Coach's Wife: Andrea Hurley
A Jersey Girl with a Sports Heart
Andrea Hurley, the wife of UConn Huskies national title-winning head coach Dan Hurley, is a New Jersey native who has been following her husband's basketball career since they met at Seton Hall University.
Early Days and College Romance
Andrea Sirakides, as she was known before her marriage, grew up in a sports-loving family in New Jersey. She excelled in basketball, softball, and track and field. Her athleticism caught the eye of Dan Hurley, a star player for the Seton Hall Pirates basketball team, in 1995.
They started dating and developed a strong bond over their shared passion for sports. After graduating from college, Andrea continued to support Dan's basketball career as he played professionally overseas.
Marriage and Family
In 1997, Andrea and Dan tied the knot, solidifying their lifelong partnership. They welcomed their first child, daughter Olivia, in 2000, followed by sons Danny Jr. in 2002 and Andrew in 2007. The Hurleys now reside in Storrs, Connecticut, where Dan coaches the UConn Huskies.
A Supportive and Involved Partner
Andrea is known as a devoted wife and mother who actively supports her husband's career. She is a frequent presence at UConn basketball games, cheering on the team and providing unwavering encouragement.
